“I want to see pictures like every other day. I’m that pain-in-the-butt guy already, so it’s cool.”
“Forever” a rockstar — now a first-time grandfather — Jon Bon Jovi, 63, recently said that life with his granddaughter, is “crazy. But great. Wonderful.”
The singer’s son, Jake Bongiovi, and his wife, “Stranger Things” actress Millie Bobby Brown, announced on Aug. 21 that they had adopted a baby. Bon Jovi talked to Bunny XO about his new role during an interview on her “Dumb Blonde” podcast.
“They adopted a girl and we met the baby, obviously. And immediately that becomes your grandchild, you know what I mean? Your baby. So it’s beautiful,” he told Bunnie XO in a video clip released on Sept. 21.
Bon Jovi also revealed that he can’t get enough of his granddaughter. He said, “I want to see pictures like every other day. I’m that pain-in-the-butt guy already, so it’s cool.”
Brown and Bongiovi announced their new arrival in a joint Instagram post: “This summer we welcomed our sweet baby girl through adoption. We are beyond excited to embark on this beautiful next chapter of parenthood in both peace and privacy.”
Along with an illustration of a willow tree, they signed off with, “And then there were 3. Love, Millie and Jake Bongiovi.”

Brown, 21, had previously shared she looked forward to expanding her family, saying on a March 10 episode of the “SmartLess” podcast, “It doesn’t matter in what way or when, but it will happen for sure.”
“I really want a big family. I’m one of four, he’s one of four, so it is definitely in our future,” she said. “I don’t see having your own child as really any different as adopting.”
Bon Jovi shares his four children — Stephanie, Jesse, Jake and Romeo — with his wife and high school sweetheart Dorothea Hurley. The couple has lived in New Jersey for most of their lives.

When Bon Jovi became a dad for the first time, he was inspired by his daughter to write the single, “I’ve Got the Girl.”
“Everybody’s got a little girl in their life,” the musician said during his performance of the song at a 2017 show in Las Vegas. “Their daughter, their girlfriend, their wife, their mamma — it all goes by so fast. And they start out as little bitty babies, and their future’s looking bright. And I wrote this song for that little baby, who’s now not such a little baby anymore.”
On the “Dumb Blonde” podcast Bon Jovi mentioned that his son Jesse and his wife are also about to welcome a baby, “so suddenly it’s a shift again.”
Will becoming a grandfather again inspire him to write new music? We’ll have to wait and see.
In an interview with the host of Sunday TODAY’s Willie Geist, Bon Jovi said, “I’ve never not been grateful. This is all pixie dust at the end. What have I got? I’ve got a wife and family that love me. I’ve got a band that believes in me. I’ve had a good life.”
